Today I came across an interesting video on YouTube.
For a long time, I advocated that compact discs are not infinitely durable.
This video shows the effects of about, I guess, 30 years of degradation on then-current CD technology.
You may watch the entire video, but I have it preset at the most relevant moment.
More information is available on Wikipedia.
So if you have some old backups or anything at all of value stored on compact discs,
you should move them onto some other media.
